This month sees scandal hit the Round NZ Swim competition. Yes the total swum has gone backwards!! - Why? Was it strong currents? Did someone leave the blocks before another member of the team touched the wall? Read on to find out more...
This month sees us having swum a total distance of 14,244Km's - just 890Km's short of our target and about 450Km's less than we had calculated for last month. What happened? Well a quick check of the results revealed some inconsistencies. Some swimmers had put in entries that were 10x greater than what they normally put in! Kind of like being caught swimming with flippers at swimming meet. So while we are not planning on taking drug samples from those identified, we do ask that if this happens to you (ie an extra zero) then let us know and we can fix it up. Of course there will be no public flogging or finger pointing, as we all know you only did it in the spirit of supporting the team effort!!
Anyway, back to this months results - obviously there have been some changes on the leaderboard, but if we get the same number of entries that came in over the last month we should easily be able to make our target in time for a Christmas break.

As we approach the end of this challenge we'd be interested to know if you thought this type of event was useful / enjoyable or not. When finished we will have all swum over 1/3 of the earths circumference - that's an achievement. If you would like to carry on let us know - but we will need more numbers than we have had for this challenge, so get everyone together in your club, and tell them to get their distances in.
