Into our eighth month and this month, the entries have been flooding in. This month we amassed 1300km's bringing the overall total  to 7174Km's. For the first time in several months, our leader has been knocked off his perch by around 30km's. To find out who did it, click on the read more link below.

We now have 4 swimmers having passed the 500Km's mark, and that's a great effort

If you haven't started putting your distances in yet, it's not too late to join in and help out.  Any distances you have swum in the last 8 months can be included. Even if you have been putting in distances, and haven't for a few months, you can easily catch up the ones you have missed just by putting  a "catchup" total in. Don't forget that in between lengths if you see someone standing at the end of the pool, have a chat to them about the Round NZ Swim. Any NZMS registered swimmer can take part, and it's all about seeing how far you can swim over a period of time, along with helping out a team - your club team, or all of us, reach a goal!

Participation is easy. Log onto the website (NZMS members only), and click on the menu item under the Health and Fitness menu. Each time you swim some lengths after the 1st May 2008, just add up the distance and submit it online - and that's it. Results are summarised monthly here on the website.

The leader this month is Heather Osborne, having swum 698Km's since May 1st. An excellent effort, but Steven is only 30Km's behind, making this a fascinating battle for the top spot. There have also been some big movers further down in the pack. Well done to all!

• From Auckland to Easter Island
• From Auckland to Christmas Island
• From Invercargill to Ile Amsterdam (this months trainspotters test!)
