Just to keep everyone on their toes, here is the interim update for June. With 672 Km's complete we still have a long way to go, and it's not too late to join up. Remember any distance swum since the 1st May can be included, so get your distances in, and encourage others in your club to do the same.

With one month already under our belts, the distances have been rolling in with Masters swimmers across the country amassing nearly 430Km's already. There have been some amazing efforts to date and all those who have contributed are to be congratulated for making the effort. Click on the "Read More..." link below to get the interim results.

The second month of our "quest"  to swim around NZ  has come and gone, and with it , we are about to reach a milestone. Yes the 1000 km mark has nearly been cracked. As the crow flys that would put us half way around one island - but as you know we are not flying crowes - rather swimming the distance, so it'sjust a wee bit longer. There have been some great results again this month, with more swimmers coming on board to help out.

A new challenge has hit the NZMS swim calendar. We want you to help us swim around New Zealand - yes all 15,134 kilometers of it! To help boost that winter training we are encouraging people to enter the distances they have swum online. We will collate the entries each month, and publish the results. You can even organise a couple of teams within your club and challenge each other to see who can swim the furtherest!

Participation is easy. Log onto the website (NZMS members only), and click on the menu item under the competition menu. Each time you swim some lengths after the 1st May 2008, just add up the distance and submit it online - and that's it.
