Young and Lockhart Outstanding at Aussie Nationals PDF Print E-mail

New Zealand Swimmers, Barry Young and Richard Lockhart, left the Australians in their wake, at the recently held National Aussie Masters Swimming Championships. Barry Young secured 4 world records in the 70 to 74 age group (to be ratified). To help put this effort in perspective, two of the records were at least 5 years old, with the 400 IM record being thrashed by 35 seconds. Barry also picked up an additional NZ record in the 50m fly for his efforts.

Richard Lockhart also improved his national record, becoming the first man in NZ, in the 45 to 49 yrs age group, to swim under 1:10 for the 100m Breast stroke.

Congratulations to you both. Full details and times follow.
