2010 NZ Masters 2.5km Open Water Champs and Epic Swim Festival

Swimming New Zealand has established the Epic Swim Festival which will take place for the first time from 16-17 January 2010 in stunning Lake Taupo. This annual event will consist of 2km and 5km recreational open water swims plus mini swims for kids. The NZ Masters 2.5km Open Water Swimming Championships and NZ 5km and 10km Open Water Championships will also form part of the 2010 Epic Swim Festival.

2009 Swim Waikato Lake Karapiro Meet

Swim Waikato Open Water event to be run at Lake Karapiro on the 12th of December.

The 5km and 10km events are Swim Waikato Championship events and are open to all SNZ members.

Non wetsuit swimmers will only be considered for the titles, but wetsuit swimmers can still swim the event.

SNZ Open Water age groups will apply, which are 13-15 yr, 16-17 yr and open, plus masters age groups at this stage.

2010 Open Water Swim Dates announced
The open water swim dates for two major series in 2010 have been announced. Both the Foveaux Masters and Auckland Central Masters open water swim series dates are now available in the events calendar. Between these series there are 9 events in place, indicating that open water swimming is alive and well amongst NZ masters swimmers. Don't forget, if you have an event that you want the rest of Masters Swimming to know about, then let us know.
