2009 South Island Short Course Meet |

Unfortunately, and despite best intentions to hold this meet, Tasman Gold are unable to host the 2009 South Island Short Course championships. Fortunately though, Tasman Gold have rescheduled their plans and are focussing on a 2010 event. An alternative host for this event has been found and details will follow shortly. |

2009 Durham Light Half Hours Postal Swim Results |
|
The Durham Light Half Hour Postal Swim results are now available. Larry Dixon, from Durham Light says that there weren't a large number of swimmers this year but some very good distances were swum. Richard Smith, swam 2350m, the longest distance. Others to achieve more than 2 kms were: Heather Osbourne (DL2), Lapo Nostrini (SC1), Mark Clavey (SC1) and Phil Hall (MS4). 2008 South Island Shrot Course CHampionships - Meet summary |
The Masters South Island Short Course Swimming Championships were held in Blenheim at Stadium 2000 on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th July with great success (even with a power blow-out on the generator switchboard for the first hour on Saturday morning which held up the racing). Competitors came from the length of the country; with Masters swimmers from clubs in Auckland through to Invercargill taking part.

2008 XII FINA World Masters Swimming Championships, Perth |
These were held in the Challenge Stadium, an impressive facility boasting three 50-metre pools, a diving pool and a water polo pool. The swimming competition was held in the two Olympic pools, one indoor and one outdoor. Like the champs held in Riccione, Italy four years ago the women and men swam separately, alternating between the indoor and outdoor pools.
